KWUA Capacity Study analysis was completed in May/Jun 2020.
The Capacity Study focused on the KWUA Water Supply System which is comprised of equipment and components including: pumps; water filtration (filters); treatment (chlorine injection); metering; pipelines (pumps to filters; filter area to tanks); and storage tanks.
The purpose and goals of the study are the following:
=> Define current KWUA capacity
=> Define KWUA demand (current & projected), ie system capacity requirement
=> Identify gaps between current capacity and requirement
=> Recommend future modifications to address gaps, as needed
This study represents appraise stage project work to assess the existing system and system needs. Recommendations stemming from this project lead to the next KWUA modification project to be undertaken by EWB-APC and KWUA. (See KWUA Energy Supply Improvement Project page)
Input will be supplied, as needed, to the Pump Project for pump sizing requirements based on system assessment and findings.
Any findings during the course of the review that may result in optimization of the current KWUA system will be shared with KWUA.
